Jointly Organised by Agrifood Technologies Pte Ltd and the Singapore Association for Laboratory Animal Science
Supported by Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) and NACLAR
The Course offers a highly interactive programme for participants involving in depth discussion on IACUC issues with experts.
More than 150 people have attended past Basic IACUC Training Courses in Singapore. There are at least a score of IACUCs functioning in various institutions in the country. These committees are faced with numerous challenges in their efforts to oversee the humane care and use of laboratory animals. Requests for additional guidance and training for IACUCs have been heard from IACUC members and researchers. This Advanced IACUC course has been designed to help address challenges, provide guidance and training to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IACUCs.
The Singapore Advanced IACUC Training Course builds on the fundamentals covered by the Basic IACUC Course on the use and care of laboratory animals, as well as IACUC management and administration. It provides participants with in-depth examination of selected “hot-topics” on IACUC. During the course, there will be plenty of opportunities for discussion on complex scenarios encountered in the course of running an IACUC.
Speakers for this course include local faculty professionals and government representatives who have been instrumental in setting up the NACLAR guidelines as well as an overseas representative from the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) International.
